WELCOME TO THE WILD GOOSE

Chambre d’Hote … on a boat.
Cruising the French Waterways aboard
“ Wild Goose”

Having at long last escaped the treadmill of 24/7, we now cruise the canals and rivers of France, offering bed and breakfast to those who wish to join us in our explorations.

We specialise in groups of 2/3 people.

Are you the only one in your family who would like to try a boating holiday?
Have you a friend who feels the same?
Are you wary of dealing with locks and moorings?
French locks have different working systems to English ones. There are several methods in use, from permanently keepered to automatic.
Do you feel that your French is not good enough for dealing with lock keepers?

No problems; with skipper on board, you are never alone and experience escorts you all the way.
There will always be something to discuss, as we have had many fascinating experiences.

In the summer of 2007 we travelled along the canals in the north, starting and finishing at St. Jean de Losne, a lovely spot near Dijon. In the autumn of 2007, the “Wild Goose” travelled down the River Rhone and then across the southern canals and lakes to winter in Capestang. Crossing the Etang de Thau and using the staircase at Beziers, have definitely added to our experience.
This year we have travelled from Beziers, on the Canal du Midi, to Castelsarrasin, on the Canal de Garonne.

more about 2008........

With most hire boats, you have to return the boat to the starting point. There is no need to do so with us.

You can even book for just a few days, if that would suit you best. A few days or a few weeks, the choice is yours.
